Dear Amelia Rising Supporters,
I am proud to share that Amelia Rising is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, a significant milestone in our journey! This achievement is a testament to the incredible work that so many have contributed over the years and the unwavering support of our community. To commemorate this milestone, we're launching a special campaign to honor our past and fuel our future. We’re inviting you to join the celebration by making a $30 donation in recognition of each year we’ve been serving this community. Now, more than ever - we require the support of our community. Here is how you can participate and show your support:
Donate: Give $30 (or more if you’re feeling extra generous!) via our Canada Helps
Spread the Word: Share our campaign with your friends, family, and on social media. Use the hashtag #30for30Years to join the conversation.
Celebrate with Us: Follow along as we share updates and highlight key moments in our 30 year history
Since we opened our doors as a grassroots women's collective in 1994, our organization has been at the forefront of supporting survivors of gender-based violence. Over the past three decades, we have provided essential counselling and education services, advocated for systemic change, and empowered countless survivors in their journeys.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to Amelia’s journey over the years — dedicated staff, compassionate volunteers, and generous supporters. Their hard work, commitment, and passion have been the driving force behind our success. This is a celebration of these contributions and the collective effort to make a difference in the lives of survivors. This milestone also serves as a tribute to the strength of the survivors we have served for 30 years. We support you, we stand with you, and we believe you.
As we reflect on our past and look toward the future, let us remember that our mission is as crucial today as it was 30 years ago. We will continue to provide support, advocate for change, and work towards a world where everyone can live free from violence.
Chi miigwech to all who have been an integral part of this incredible journey. Let’s celebrate our past, embrace the present, and build a brighter future. Together, we have the strength, compassion, and resolve to create lasting change. Here’s to continuing our vital work, supporting survivors, and shaping a future filled with promise and possibility.
With unwavering dedication,
Daniella Northrup
