The ARTicipate Endowment Fund was established in 2007 by Arts Network Ottawa (formerly AOE Arts Council) to support artistic programming in professional spaces at the Shenkman Arts Centre, Ottawa. The Arts Network is the steward of the fund and is responsible for its promotion, administration and sustainability.
Since 2010, the ARTicipate Endowment Fund has provided over $582,867.80 through 153 grants awarded to local artists and arts groups including the Shenkman Arts Centre’s five Resident Arts Partners (Arts Network Ottawa, Ottawa School of Art - Orléans Campus, Gloucester Pottery School, Mouvement d’implication francophone d’Orléans (MIFO), and Ottawa School of Theatre). Whether it is a stage performance, an art exhibition in one of the Centre’s galleries or a choral concert, because of donor’s financial commitment to the Fund, local artists are able to share their work at the Shenkman Arts Centre. Collectively, we are proud of the positive impact the Fund has had on Ottawa’s arts community.
With thanks to individual donors, businesses and the arts community, the Fund has grown to $4.8 million, just shy of the $5 million goal. The Curtain Call Campaign is a concerted effort that will align with Shenkman Arts Centre’s 10th Anniversary aiming to meet the ARTicipate Endowment Fund’s original goal of $5M.
We are very close to reaching our goal - so close that we have been challenged by the Shenkman Family Foundation to raise the remaining $200,000 by December 31, 2018.
With thanks to the generosity of the Shenkman Family Foundation, all donations to the ARTicipate Endowment Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar before December 31, 2018 (up to $100,000). Your donation, large or small, will be doubled and have twice the impact on the arts and culture in Ottawa.
There are several ways you can support the Curtain Call Campaign!
- Make a contribution in any amount and it will be matched dollar-for-dollar! Every donation counts, large or small, and will be added to the ARTicipate Endowment Fund.
- You can put your name, business or the name of a loved one on a seat in-perpetuity in Harold Shenkman Hall (denominations of $500 or $750). Please include this directive in the note box.
- For a more significant contribution, there are still some naming opportunities available (in-perpetuity) within the Shenkman Arts Centre. These range from $15K to $125K.
If you would like additional assistance, please contact Margo Hébert, Philanthropy and Community Relations Manager electronically at email@example.com or 613.580.2767. Cheques are made payable to Arts Network Ottawa and indicate in the cheque note that the donation is for the ARTicipate Endowment Fund. Cheques can be dropped off or mailed to:
