Casting Call for all Black Professionals with hidden talents!

b current performing arts is hosting the inaugural Black History Month showcase at Second City’s John Candy Box Theatre on February 16 at 7:00 pm.

If you have a passion for performing but lack professional training, b current has an exciting opportunity for you!

Register today for only $100 and you'll get training from Shakeil Rollock, one of Toronto’s most exciting performers in the Black theatre community. This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to let your secret star shine under the expert guidance of a remarkable performer.

Practicing your talent is great, letting it show in front of an audience of your friends and family is even better. That’s why we’ll ask you to create a personal fundraising page by clicking the "Create a Fundraiser" button above.

Instead of selling tickets, we’re thrilled to offer them to your friends and family in exchange for a donation to b current. We’ll make sure they have a great seat when they make a donation to your training of just $25, $50 or $100 - or whatever they’d like! Everything we raise will help fund b current’s groundbreaking training programs and in-school workshops for the Black and Brown diaspora.

Your support will also ensure that we can continue to nurture Black and Brown performing artists through original productions such as the two-time Dora Award-winning Our Fathers, Sons, Lovers and Little Brothers by Makambe K Simamba.

Participants get to enjoy FUN free training from Shakeil Rollock on the following dates:

Tues Jan 21 6:30-8:30 pm - Tues Jan 28 6:30-8:30 pm - Tues Feb 4 6:30-8:30 pm - Tues Feb 11 6:30-8:30 pm

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS JANUARY 3 2020
