In January 2018 the Baysville Friends of the Library started the year with “Great Expectations”, “Good Intentions” and a dash of “Sense and Sensibility”. The plans for our fundraiser were underway. The date was set for May 26th and “Fork in the Road” had agreed to do the catering. It was shaping up to be a real ”Barn Burner. And “The Knitting Circle” had started “The Afghan”.
During February, March and April, we continued with the “Nitty Gritty” of planning the ”Barn Burner and collecting items for the ”Silent Auction”. We all took a break from our chores to wish “Everybody’s Favorite” librarian, Linda Lacroix, a “Happy Retirement”. Your response to our request for donations to the Linda Lacroix Student Award Fund was “A Marvelous Work and a Wonder”. Thank you!
May was “Crunch Time” with a lengthy “To Do List” as “Our Beloved 26th“ approached. And “The Knitting Circle” had finished “The Afghan”! In June we realized that we were a bit behind on our fundraising goals; however, the “Barn Burner” definitely exceeded our “fun-raising goals! “Over the Summer” we relaxed, entertained family and friends, swam, boated, and, in our spare time, sold afghan lottery tickets. In September we “Resolved” to meet our 2018 financial commitment to the Baysville Library. But “How to accomplish a difficult task”? Ask your Friends for help, of course!
