The History of Mike's Walk:
Mike Hamilton sustained a brain injury on May 27, 1972.  Since that time, Mike's determination and resilience helped him adapt to the lifelong consequences of brain injury.   Mike represents the over 160,000 Canadians that sustain a brain injury every year.  The incidence and prevalence of brain injury outnumbers breast cancer, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and HIV/AIDS – combined.  In Ontario there are currently over half a million Canadians just like Mike, living with the effects of an acquired brain injury.
Mike began to fulfill a dream of increasing awareness about brain injury and raising funds for the Brain Injury Association of London & Region.  To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of his injury, Mike walked from London to Pelee Island.  Since then he has walked from London to various communities including Stratford, Port Stanley and his hometown of Glencoe.
