Camp Kawartha Environment Centre
In a world of ever-increasing environmental challenges, part of the solution must involve providing children and our communities with the strategies, tools and ideas to make their tomorrow and their children’s tomorrow, a sustainable one. Bill Hammond, a professor of Environmental Education, suggests that the most effective kind of environmental learning emerges out of combining knowledge of environmental issues with scalable, relevant and local action. Children need to witness how their efforts lead to tangible and lasting results. By offering programs to students about ecological awareness and environmental issues; by showcasing practical examples of sustainable living; and by participating in direct action, Camp Kawartha teaches our youth about the fundamental principles of stewardship.
Help us welcome students whose socio-economic situation would deprive them of this opportunity to visit the Environment Centre. Your donation will help open a world of learning and a shared experience.
