Heart-Language Ride 2017
Canada Institute of Linguistics
CanIL's Heart-Language Ride 2017 for scholarships, bursaries and ministry-launch awards supported the local world-class Prospera Valley GranFondo, registering all riders as members of Team CanIL. The Ride took place on Sunday, July 23, in the heart of Fort Langley, B.C. To learn more about the Heart-Language Ride, click here. To learn more about the Valley Fondo, click here.
While the Valley Fondo is a one-day event, CanIL's fundraising extends into early August, with each registered participant challenged to raise $1,000.00 or more. As CanIL graduates go out to the field, they help meet the challenges faced by over 160 million people who speak the world's 1700+ underdeveloped languages. As you ride or give, you share in bringing hope to marginalized minority-language communities. Thank you!
To give through a specific participant, select "Find a Team or Person", type the name then click "Search". To see a complete list of all participants, click "Search" without typing in the search field.
Generous supporters of CanIL agreed to match 2:1 the first $50,000 in donations received online or offline for the Heart-Language Ride. Those matching funds have now been fully utilized and are included on the campaign progress bar above.
Use of Funds. Your generous financial support given to the Scholarship & Bursary fund through the Heart-Language Ride is used to directly assist qualifying students with their tuition and other expenses while in a CanIL study program. Thanks to our corporate sponsors who covered all campaign costs, 100% of each contribution will be used for the benefit of CanIL students and graduates. We do not withhold any assessment or fees on these funds.
