Support 2024 Spay/Neuter/Vacc Care in Remote Communities

The Canadian Animal Assistance Team (CAAT) partners with remote and underserved communities who reach out for assistance in addressing the lack of access to veterinary services and the creation of local initiatives to support a Community Animal Management Plan.

95% of our work is in Canadian Indigenous communities.   We partner with community leadership that are interested in local initiatives for change to ensure a sustainable, community driven animal management program.

CAAT will provide access to veterinary care through our volunteer teams travelling in, bringing all medical/surgical supplies and providing the services right in the community, at no cost, to ensure everyone has access.  Our spay/neuter/vaccination events are only ONE of the steps in working toward a sustainable plan.

Although many communities share common issues, there are always concerns and barriers that are unique to an individual community. Thus, we customize our approach based on the community defining what they need and what we can assist with in working toward a community animal management plan.

Our role is to support a community in its journey toward a locally run management plan.   The community defines what they feel is needed and we support them in working toward that.    Seeing the positive difference that the different components of their plan makes is the impetus to continue down that path.

It is about helping the animals, helping the people and helping the community as a whole.  The goal is to have the community themselves create and run their own animal programs.  We will be available for support and we will stay connected with the community we have partnered with but they will be the ones to ultimately make their program a success.   Your donation can help us improve the lives of the animals in our under served and remote Canadian Indigenous communities.
