Thank you to everyone who supported our Cultural Competency Bus Tours Campaign in 2019-2020! This project is postponed until we can safely convene again, and all donations directed to this campaign will be saved for that time.
The Canadian Dance Assembly (CDA) is a small but mighty service organization – we need your help to get us on the road in many different communities.
Last year, in order to encourage greater understanding and appreciation of Indigenous history and culture we started offering Cultural Competency bus tours of T:karanto (Toronto). We heard from our members that they wanted to learn more about their region from an Indigenous perspective. CDA asked Ashley Bomberry, our Indigenous Advisor, to coordinate a three-hour tour, led by two Indigenous facilitators. Tours are conducted in an accessible bus and include stops along the route. The first bus tour sold-out in less than 24 hours! Needless to say, we want to offer more of this training to our members across the country.
This November, Ashley Bomberry has planned a Cultural Competency bus tour of Ottawa to begin our national conference. CDA would like to take this introductory training, to multiple cities across Canada. We need your help to expand the Cultural Competency training nationally. One Cultural Competency Bus tour costs approximately $3000.
Please help us reach our goal and amplify the impact of the Canadian Dance Assembly and consider donating today.
