Last year, a famine was declared in South Sudan and Nigeria, Somalia and Yemen were on the brink, as well. While famine has now ceased but food insecurity persists in these countries. In 2018, UNICEF is aiming to reach more than 926,000 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition in Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen.
We need to help these children now.
UNICEF and partners are working around the clock, providing therapeutic food treatment to children in need. The use of ready-to-use therapeutic food such as Plumpy’Nut is UNICEF’s most effective tool for treating acute and severe acute malnutrition. The energy and nutrient-packed paste can help an undernourished child gain up to two pounds in a week and can transform a child from near death to survival in roughly six weeks.
Your donation can provide this live-saving treatment today.
