The Central Okanagan Hospice Association (COHA) has been supporting the Central Okanagan, from Peachland to Lake Country, for over 38 years. COHA is committed to help individuals with a serious illness live to the fullest until they die, and to help their loved ones be supported in their grief.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, COHA remains fully committed to its community.
Our counsellors have transitioned to virtual or phone support. These professional counsellors see clients of all ages, from children to seniors, to support them in their grief.
COHA's volunteers offer support to individuals with life-limiting illnesses, and to their families. Our volunteers have also transitioned to providing phone and virtual support, so they may remain connected in this uncertain time. These volunteers help reduce some of the increased isolation that our clients may be feeling, as they are not able to have visitors due to the new social distancing requirements.
We are exploring other ways to enhance our support of our volunteers and clients through the technology available to us.
COHA is proud to offer these services at no costs to our clients. We believe that there should be no financial barriers in receiving support during life's most vulnerable moments.
COHA relies on community support to provide these services, now more than ever. Thank you for your support.
