Dear Donor,
We are excited to announce the launch of our donation campaign for the 15th edition of the Festival Expressions artistiques d’ici et d’ailleurs (FEAIA) 2024. FEAIA is an initiative of the Accueil pour Immigrants et Réfugiés du sud-ouest de Montréal (AIR-SOM / Centre PRISME) that was established 15 years ago and has since become the largest intercultural exchange event in the southwest of Montreal.
Our Mission: FEAIA is a hybrid platform for showcasing performances, exhibitions, and cultural activities, as well as an event that promotes diversity and art forms from immigrant backgrounds. We aim to support artists from various ethnic groups and communities who face obstacles to full recognition in the artistic and cultural milieu. FEAIA's mission is to enliven the ethnocultural diversity of southwest Montreal, develop an audience sensitive to diverse approaches, and above all, showcase the cultural richness of immigration, facilitate intercultural exchange, and inclusion.
Objectives:
Artistic and Programming Level:
- Offer fair fees and satisfactory conditions to 4-5 artistic teams from different ethnic groups, primarily from immigrant backgrounds (Dance, Music, Multidisciplinary), by organizing a family picnic in a LaSalle park.
- Provide professional and generous conditions to 5 visual artists from different ethnic groups, primarily from immigrant backgrounds, by offering a 14-day exhibition in a LaSalle gallery.
- Organize 3 guided tours of the exhibition by the 5 exhibiting visual artists.
- Offer fair fees and satisfactory conditions to 5 artistic teams from different ethnic groups, primarily from immigrant backgrounds (Music, Dance, Multidisciplinary), for 5 performances in a small performance hall.
- Collaborate with 1-2 artistic teams from different ethnic groups, primarily from immigrant backgrounds (Dance, Multidisciplinary), by organizing 5 participatory demonstrations in a cultural space in LaSalle.
- Organize 5 post-performance discussions with the artists, offering a fair fee to a cultural mediator.
- Collaborate with 2-3 LaSalle organizations to co-organize captivating activities around the festival's main program to diversify our audience.
Public Level:
- Welcome a total of 200 people (outdoors) and 900 people (indoor venue) from different ethnic groups and communities established on the Island of Montreal, specifically in the southwest of the island, by providing free access to performances and activities.
We invite you to join us in making FEAIA 2024 a success by donating to our campaign. Your contribution will help us achieve our objectives and promote intercultural exchange and the arts in our community.
Thank you for your consideration, and we hope to see you at FEAIA 2024!
