City Kidz Regina is such an important mission for our city. There are hundreds of children nearby living in poverty, without hope or a positive vision for their lives. City Kidz intervenes. They plant seeds into young lives to help them make decisions that put them on a path to purpose and prosperity – and away from poverty.
During the COVID-19 Crisis, we have had to close the Playhouse Theatre and stop our home visits due to social distancing. We are continuing contact with the families through weekly phone calls. We have heard that more is needed. During these phone calls we have had families ask for help with basic items such as toilet paper. We have also heard of families not being able to get to the drop-in centre where the weekly lunches are being handed out or that they have ran our of food before they were able to get there. One of the main areas of our Saturday program is a nutritional lunch, help us continue to provide this essential need to our families. We are hoping to be able to provide meals to 4 or 5 families on a weekly basis. The second part of our intercession plan throughout this crisis is to create a CityKidz mailbox package. Once a month each child will receive a package of CityKidz goodies, including a returnable activity sheet to assist with keeping them busy while they are away from school and to say Hi, we are thinking about you and love you!!!
YOUR SUPPORT WILL MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE TO THIS MISSION!
