We are committed to improving the lives of children growing up with the challenges of poverty. There’s nothing we won’t do and no place we won’t go in search of the one child who needs us.
Our on-site children’s programs and youth mentorship are just some of the many ways we connect with kids week after week… after week for years and years… and years! Supporting all of these great activities are our weekly home visits. These allow us to develop and sustain authentic relationships with children, their families and the communities where they live. We know that change takes time and so we’re committed to our communities for the long haul.
One of the many ways we instil resilience is through weekly home visits to every child who attends our Saturday program. Home visits provide us with the opportunity to build relationships with kids and their families and to truly show them that we care. This consistent week-in and week-out commitment contributes to building the strong relationships that enable our CityKidz children to thrive in spite of sometimes very challenging circumstances.
One out of every two indigenous children are living in poverty (That’s almost five times the poverty rate for non-indigenous children)
