Between the main goals of Cold Lake Public Library, we strive to create young readers promoting early literacy, we celebrate diversity, stimulate imagination, creativity and we offer a welcoming and inclusive environment that reflects our diverse community.

In addition to this, we would like to offer a unique gathering place for our community to experience and learn about the wealth of knowledge and traditions within Indigenous culture. That is why we started a project to install an authentic Tipi in our Reading Garden. All members of our community and surrounding areas will be invited to come meet us at the Tipi, to participate in programs and activities for all ages like: story telling, arts, crafts, and other cultural programs to promote literacy and creativity.

We are currently in the process of raising funds to cover the cost of the Tipi and the preparation of the area where it will be installed (garden extension and landscaping). A total cost of $20,000 is estimated for this project. Any contribution is welcome, and it will help us accomplish our goal of having the Tipi installed by Spring 2022.Donation Deadline Saturday, September 30, 2023
