Collingwood does not have an emergency shelter. The Out of the Cold program will provide an emergency shelter program for people experiencing homelessness during the coldest months of the year -- from November to April.
The program offers a warm, safe place to spend the night, along with a nutritious, hot meal, hygiene kits and connections to housing support workers and other community supports as needed. It will respond to the deeply human needs of compassion, dignity and feelings of self-worth.
Your financial donation will be allocated to needed supplies such as bedding and laundry, cleaning & kitchen supplies, hygiene kits and food and snacks.
The nonprofit program is led by a community task force, guided by the Simcoe County Alliance to End Homelessness and is operated under the local charity, Community Connection. The task force of community members are passionate about eradicating homelessness in Collingwood.
