Centre Sida Amitié, established in 1991, is a community base organization in sexual health and infectious disease. The Center's mission to provide home services, support and assistance to people living with HIV / AIDS or hepatitis C virus as well as to their relatives in the Laurentians.
The mission of the organization is also to raise awareness, educate, treat and protect the population next to the different realities in relation to HIV / AIDS, viral hepatitis as well as other sexually transmitted infections. The main objectives are to prevent new infections and improving the living conditions of the people living with HIV or HCV.
One of the Center's main program is its community clinic. It is oriented toward the infectious disease community, especially HIV / AIDS, viral hepatitis, sex and blood infections transmissible and related health conditions. The CSA is more particularly to the health service of persons faced with difficulties such as problems: homelessness, addiction, sex work, marginalized because of their life style or sexual orientation.
Given the uniqueness of its services, the Center works with a multidisciplinary team that provides a continuum of preventive services and full support. We act upon delivery of preventive materials to the curative cares. Among the 10 employees, we find 3 social workers, 2 nurses, 1 program social integration and an administrative team. Added to this team is 1 family doctor and 2 specialists in medical microbiology and infectious disease, and community health. It is important to mention the collective experience of our team because of the multidisciplinary nature of our approach in the collaboration of our professionals with the person living with HIV / AIDS, hepatitis C and other people at risk.
