We envision a society in which all people are valued, respected, and given the opportunity to work to their full potential.
Distinctive Employment Counselling Services of Alberta (DECSA) works collaboratively to overcome barriers to employment and education in a changing world.
DECSA combines publicly-available drop-in services with specialized programming to deliver employment services to Albertans who need them. We provide individualized and specialized supports, programs, and services that are specifically designed to meet the educational, employment and self-employment related needs for those who face barriers to education, employment, and entrepreneurship. We assist our clients with barriers such as disability (invisible and visible), mental health concerns, addiction, trauma, sexual exploitation, family violence, concurrent disorders, and other complex issues.
- Services/Programs: We offer supports and services for individuals who have experienced sexual exploitation and people with visible and/or invisible disabilities.
- Employers: We match employers and businesses with pre-screened candidates who are ready, willing, and able to work.
- Community Hub: We share our resources and space with the public to help all job-seekers find employment.
- Secondary supports: DECSA also provides secondary supports including transportation, addiction therapy, and community referral services.
DECSA is a place where everyone is valued and respected from the moment they walk in the door. When our clients leave us, they are armed with the direction, confidence, and skills they need to pursue their goals and achieve their full potential.
