Hurricane Beryl Response

Hurricane Beryl became the earliest storm to develop into a Category 5 hurricane in the Atlantic on Monday, July 1, peaking at winds of 270kph on Tuesday, July 2 before weakening to a Category 4 hurricane. It has impacted several countries in the Caribbean including Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Jamaica.

GlobalMedic is responding to emergent needs in the Caribbean and is monitoring the continuing path of the Hurricane. We have made Family Emergency Kits, Emergency Food Kits, AquaResponse Systems (AR Systems), and large-scale critical infrastructure tenting available to our partners in the Caribbean.

Family Emergency Kits contain a water purification solution, hygiene items and a solar light. This kit provides solutions to multiple problems families are facing. Emergency Food Kits contain a mixture of pantry items, providing households with access to staple goods. GlobalMedic’s AR Systems are point of source water purifications systems which can provide thousands of litres of water at central locations ensuring access to safe drinking water. GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team is also on standby to deploy with these pieces of critical aid.

GlobalMedic has already provided 720 Family Emergency Kits and 720 Emergency Food Kits to our partners in Jamaica, and a team has been deployed to install an AR system at a community kitchen in Treasure Beach.
