The Down Syndrome Association of Peterborough is excited to be hosting our second annual Down Syndrome Awareness Fun Walk!

Date: Saturday, September 14, 2019 (Rain or Shine!)

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where: Isabel Morris Park, Lakefiled, ON

What: The Down Syndrome Awareness Fun Walk will be an exciting, colourful 2 km walk, open to family, friends, and the entire community. This event will help us to raise awareness and funding for the Down Syndrome Association of Peterborough so that we can bring increased programming, information sessions and support to individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

The walk will be a "colour splash" walk, where participants will be given a white t-shirt and will leave the walk covered in a rainbow of colour!  Coloured powder (non-toxic of course!) will be thrown in the air as participants walk the route and a colour party will take place once we're back at the park!

Following the walk there will be a Fun Zone with a petting zoo, inflatable obstacle course, food, games and much more!  We will also have wonderful music and entertainment from members with different abilities within our community!

Registration:  EVERYONE IS WELCOME!  Registration is $10 per person (over the age of 2) and will include entry to the event, a t-shirt and a reusable water bottle.  Food/drinks will be available for purchase and there will be a refillable water station.  To register, either Create a Team, Join a Team (through "Find a Team") or Join as an Individual through the links above.

*NOTE about Team Members*  Each participant needs to register in order to get a t-shirt and gain entry to the event.  However, adding each participant's name to your Team Page is OPTIONAL.  To be listed as a Team Member on your Team Page, individuals must have their own unique email address.  You can register people under the same email address, but only one name will show up on your Team Page for each email address registered. (Example:  If you register your children and yourself under one email address, all three of you will be registered and will receive a t-shirt, but only one of your names will show up as a Team Member on your page, unless you assign each of your children their own separate email address).

Fundraising:  You can fundraise by emailing out the fundraising link (which you will see after you register) to family and friends, and/or by sharing the link on Social Media.  You can also collect "offline" donations, by printing out a pledge sheet and collecting cash or cheques.  (Please download the pledge sheet from the photo roll at the bottom of this page).  "Offline" pledge sheets and cash/cheques will be collected the morning of the Walk.

Donating: If you would like to donate to the event, but aren't able to attend, you can do so by clicking the orange "Donate Now" button and following the instructions - you can donate to a specific team, or to the walk in general.
