Established in 1984, Eastern Edge is a not-for-profit artist-run centre and a registered charity. Eastern Edge functions as an arts-based community centre, delivering free and accessible arts programming year-round. We aim to provide a diversity of programs that serve artists of all ages, race, language, or gender, creating a safe and engaging community where artistic practices at every level can thrive and every artist can be respected and celebrated.

Through various artistic mediums, artists tell their stories, share experiences, and celebrate the landscapes, traditions, and characters that define their way of life. The arts serve as a powerful tool for self-expression, ensuring that our culture and heritage continue to be preserved, celebrated, and passed onto future generations. The local arts scene is a source of pride and a testament to the talent, creativity, and cultural richness of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Local and international arts bring people together, fostering community engagement and social cohesion. Eastern Edge provide opportunities for visitors and the people who call this place home to come together, learn from one another, and build connections. The artist-run centre creates a sense of belonging and unity, strengthening the social fabric of communities. Local arts activities also encourage collaboration and cross-cultural exchange, bridging diverse backgrounds and fostering a sense of inclusivity.
