Edmonton’s Food Bank is continuing to operate during these unprecedented times, foodraising, fundraising, and friendraising. As we prepare to enter our 40th year, we know that we have come through many difficulties and there will be many more ahead.
As COVID-19 is affecting the lives of people worldwide, we are seeing people turn to Edmonton’s Food Bank for the first time. These are men, women, and families who have never accessed our services before, people who have lost their jobs or incomes, who have exhausted all other resources. This new group of people who are reaching out to Edmonton’s Food Bank are in addition to those who have previously faced food insecurity and were already coming to the Food Bank for support.
The annual Heritage Festival is one of our largest food and fundraisers. But, this year, in keeping safety in the forefront, things have changed and we have had to do things differently. Your online donation allows us to purchase what we need, when we need it, therefore giving us the ability to continue providing food for those in need.
To keep in the spirit of multiculturalism, feel free to experience the online Heritage Festival.
