Over 800,000 people are now displaced after the worst flood in 100 years has hit Kerala, India. Dams are overflowing, roads are destroyed, and hundreds and thousands of homes are submerged under water. The extreme flooding in India’s southern region has left over 350 people dead and the death toll is continuing to rise.
With cleanup efforts underway, the need is extremely great. Families are in desperate need of food and water.
ERDO in partnership with the Good Shepherd Church of India will be responding to the crisis. Through trusted church workers and volunteers, we will be distributing food packages within five communities in the Wanyad district of Kerala.
