Ongoing political conflict has caused widespread displacement, raging violence and increasing rates of food insecurity in South Sudan. 1 in 5 people in South Sudan have been displaced, and thousands are flooding into neighbouring countries every day. Many refugees are crossing into Uganda.
Uganda is now facing a crisis of their own as they seek to care for the incoming South Sudanese refugees, 87% of whom are women and children. In partnership with, Pentecostal Assemblies of God - Uganda, ERDO will be providing Corn Soya Blend Plus and nutritional monitoring to pregnant women and persons with special needs.
- Distribution of nutritional food supplements in 16 villages to 2,000 pregnant women and 550 persons with special needs in Rhino resettlement camps.
- 2,550 beneficiaries will be supported on a monthly basis for three months.
