More of our neighbours than ever are worried about having enough to eat. Neighbours like Lucas* who recently lost his job. His wife works full-time, but it’s just not enough to take care of their four growing daughters. Lucas told us that without the food they receive from the food bank, and the money it saves his family, they’d very likely lose their home. “Our biggest struggle right now? To make sure we’re not thrown out on the street,” he shared.

Lucas’ story echoes so many of our neighbours’ struggles. Too many are a heartbeat away from hunger. 1 in 13 neighbours are using food banks in our network. That’s 8% of our city!
