Grace Rwanda Society exists to provide educational support to children and youth in Rwanda by establishing collaboration and partnership and sharing resources, skills / knowledge, and funding.
Our vision is that every child, youth and female in Rwanda has the opportunity to live in a supportive, vibrant, literate and healthy community. We believe that equal opportunities for universal education are essential to building this kind of community.
WHO WE ARE
Grace Rwanda is a Canadian registered charity founded in Langley, B.C. in 2009 by members of the Rwandan Diaspora. Grace Rwanda's goal is to bring literacy to all Rwandans empowering them to succeed in building their country.
Books are scarce and expensive in Rwanda. Therefor, we focus on literacy, giving all access to reading materials. We also train women and youth entrepreneurs for job creation and to fight poverty. The production of women recyclable monthly hygienic kits is in progress with 1,000 sample kits to be distributed by 2020.
In 2010, we created our first libraries. Currently, Grace Rwanda has installed 23 District Youth Center Libraries and supports an additional 80 community libraries through training and providing reading materials to over 1,000+ readers daily throughout the country.
Please join us in bringing literacy to Rwanda, “one book at a time,” and to support women and youth gain their social, economic and wellbeing.
