In this time of crisis it is important that we remember those requiring end of life support. Our Hospice is continuing to provide that support using technology, be it over the phone or through Zoom and similar technology. Our volunteers now visit with their clients on a regular basis and grief support is provided using the same technology.
Our Co-ordinator is working from home making sure that client and volunteer needs are met. As fewer people, even health care professionals, are allowed to visit in homes our Co-ordinator makes sure that those isolated at home hear from their volunteer more frequently. Even those in our extended care facilities will get more virtual visits.
As we engage with the Palliative Rounds team we are searching as a group for new ways to provided maximum comfort to those are facing end of life issues. Our Navigator Care team continues to reach out to their clients who need support int he coming months.
Our trained grief support volunteers will be taking additional training as we foresee an additional demand for this service both for individuals, families and facility staff.
