War, violence and persecution have uprooted more men, women and children around the world than at any time since World War II. For those who find their way to Nova Scotia, the Halifax Refugee Clinic is here to help.
We began helping refugee claimants in urgent need in 2000. We have a small staff team, a large volunteer base and a pro-bono legal team who work tirelessly to ensure that each person is supported with dignity and compassion. We offer legal help, settlement services, advocacy and hope to families fleeing civil war, young women escaping forced marriages, human rights activists fleeing oppressive regimes, those who have been tortured, persecuted and forced to leave their homes.
On June 20th, 2018 our local and global community will be observing World Refugee Day. To mark this day in a meaningful way, we are asking for help from our community. We’re seeking your support of the Halifax Refugee Clinic Emergency Assistance Fund. The fund prevents homelessness by offering short term housing opportunities that keep vulnerable families together and out of the shelter system. It also provides much needed support for those in crisis providing food, clothing, transportation and much more. Please consider having an immediate and positive impact on the lives of refugee claimants by choosing to donate to the Halifax Refugee Clinic.
Each dollar donated helps to create a brighter future for refugees! Thank you! Merci!
