UPDATE Feb 21: Pearl was recovering from her first dental procedure and was waiting patiently for her second surgery next week. Unfortunately last night her foster mom noticed that she was looking very sick and took her to emergency right away. Pearl was found to have pyometra, an infection of the uterus, that can happen when a pet is not spayed. This condition can make them very sick or can even be life threatening. Peal went into emergency surgery this morning to spay her and remove her uterus. We are still fundraising to cover her cost of care, which is now estimated to be more than the initial $2,500 cost we expected. If you’d like to support this sweet girl along her road to recovery, we would be extremely appreciative! Stay tuned for updates, and a final update after her dental is complete – we can’t wait to find this girl the perfect forever family when she is ready!
UPDATE Feb 14: Pearl went into surgery this morning and is recovering very well! Due to the severity of her dental disease, our veterinarians have determined that a second surgery will be required next week to finish her treatment. If you’d like to make a donation towards her cost of care, it’s not too late! Thank you for your support!
Sweet, tiny 7 year old Pearl arrived at the Stratford Perth Humane Society as a transfer after being found as a stray. Found suffering from severe dental disease, Pearl is in a lot of pain. She continually licks and drools due to the discomfort she is in. She is just a wee 1.4kg and is the friendliest girl. She wants to love and cuddle you all day long.
Pearl requires extensive dental extractions and heads into surgery tomorrow. We are hoping that you’ll support this sweet girl by making a donation towards her cost of care and medical bills. We are hoping to raise roughly $2,500 to put towards her overall cost of care and surgery.
From the whole team at KWSPHS, thank you for making our work possible!
