The School for the Deaf in Jerusalem
Over the past years ICEJ Canada has supported the School for the Deaf in Jerusalem with various projects such as the purchase of a large ceramics oven for their pottery skills training and also renovating the computer room with high speed internet wiring and upgrades.
We support this school because it welcomes children from all ethnicities, treating each one with dignity and teaching them important life skills for their future. Communication is the key focus for the 90 kids enrolled. They range from the ages of 6 to 21 years. Each child is supported with therapy sessions to help them grow and understand who they are within deaf culture. The school also stresses job training skills that they can use when they leave the school so they can integrate successfully into Israeli society.
While visiting the school in January our 150 Ways to Bless Israel Tour participants enjoyed meeting Gillah Tatar who is the school principal and also many of the children. We also experienced eating the delicious baked goods the students created and realized that there was a huge need for some commercial equipment in their kitchen. We asked Gillah about this and she confirmed that they desperately needed commercial mixers and food processors to replace the old equipment that barely functions.
This campaigns goal is to raise $10,000 CAD to help the School for the Deaf in Jerusalem and send it by the end of March. We need your help to do that. Please prayerfully consider making a donation. You will make a huge difference for the future of these children.
Thank you so much for your support for this project!
