Community Forests International’s mission is to fight climate change by empowering rural communities to thrive with nature.
About COMMUNITY FORESTS INTERNATIONAL
Community Forests International works to connect people and their communities to the forests that sustain them.
Climate change is impacting communities and landscapes around the world, and one of the most significant solutions to help slow the global climate crisis is our forests.
Working alongside rural communities in Zanzibar, we create resilient livelihood opportunities that have conservation, ecosystem restoration, and empowerment at their core. Since 2008, we have helped communities plant more than 2 million trees.
In Canada, Community Forests International works to protect mature Acadian forests, restore degraded land, and build regenerative forestry opportunities for rural landowners across Atlantic Canada.
