About SHADOWLAND REPERTORY
Shadowland is known for its acerbic, visual wit in parades, travelling outdoor theatre productions and quirky, intimate puppet shows.
Shadowland uses visual theatre techniques and spectacle arts to engage participants of all ages in collective creation. Puppetry and mask, stilt-walking, fire and lanterns, music and song are all integrated into multi-disciplinary site-specific performances.
Shadowland works with a wide range of communities in rural and urban areas to unearth their distinctive histories, creating new stories and celebrating special events. These collaborations can take place over a number of years culminating in large community shows leaving a legacy of skills and inspirations.
Shadowland has won three Dora Mavor Moore awards for Outstanding Costume Design and in 2009 was voted Best Grassroots Theatre by NOW magazine.
