To meet the needs of residents so they may live with dignity, companionship and the assurance of excellent care and service.
About JUBILEE RESIDENCES FOUNDATION INC.
Jubilee Residences was formed in 1955 by a group of local citizens to provide care and sheltered housing for the elderly of Saskatoon. Over the years our non-profit organization, with a volunteer Board of Directors, has constructed and continues to operate Mount Royal Court, Porteous Lodge, Cosmopolitan Court, Eamer Court and Stensrud Lodge. The volunteer board, professional staff, managers and employees of these facilities have gained a reputation for providing exceptional care and admirable stewardship of resources. Our mandate, unchanged since our formation, continues to be to provide safe, quality, low-cost housing and long-term nursing care to Saskatoon seniors.
Over the past decade, seniors in long term care facilities are presenting with increasingly complex medical needs and requiring more assistance just to accomplish basic movements. As the needs of our residents increase, we must provide for those needs by upgrading equipment and environment.
4th Annual Oktoberfest Dinner & Comedy Night
Join us on Friday, October 19, 2018 for a night of fun featuring Lars Callieou who has appeared at the Just for Laughs Festival and has a 1-Hour Comedy Special currently airing on The Comedy Network. He was just the third Canadian in history to make the Finals of both the San Francisco and Seattle International Comedy Competitions and this past spring he Won ‘Best of the Fest’ at the San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival. Lars has also been overseas to entertain the troops 3 times (Kuwait, IRAQ, Kyrgyzstan, Dubai and Abu Dhabi) and has a weekly comedy radio show on CJSR 88.5 FM that was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award. Lars has toured with the likes of Miss Joan Rivers, Jeff Foxworthy, Bob Saget and Martin Short. He made his first appearance this April at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in Australia and if you’re a fan of CBC he’s on the Debaters and CBC TV. He’s also appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, the Boston Comedy Festival, the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas and the Halifax Comedy Festival in… well… Halifax. It’s safe to say he’s become an overnight success in just 12 years.
Other highlights of the evening include beer sampling during our “Beer Stein Hour,” a delicious and authentic German-themed buffet, and the opportunity to bid on some amazing live and silent auction items. All Funds raised will go toward Jubilee’s Light up a Life Campaign in support of the building of all season sunrooms at Porteous and Stensrud Lodges.
