The Vancouver Fruit Tree Project is a non-profit society. Our volunteers harvest extra fruit from backyard fruit trees and redistribute it to communty organizations that support those in need. In the past 15 years we have picked more than 48,000 pounds (that’s over 24 tons!) of fruit and donated it to community centres, neighbourhood houses, daycares and other community groups.
About VANCOUVER FRUIT TREE PROJECT SOCIETY
The Vancouver Fruit Tree Project Society is a community-based charity, and registered not-for-profit, that works to build community and strengthen food security using local fruit. Since 1999 VFTP has been building a growing community in Vancouver's neighbourhoods, providing children, families, seniors, and youth with access to fresh, local fruit.
Community Partners receive fruit donations for use in their community activities, including food banks, daycares, community kitchens, programs for people with disabilities, drop-in programs, and for direct distribution to support those in need.
Reduce food waste, feed people in your community, and strengthen Vancouver’s food security!!!
