Sustainable Community Health Research
Medical and health care discoveries can lead to dramatic improvements in people's health. But in Africa, these discoveries aren't always effective. Sometimes it's because the changes don't fit local culture or they are too expensive. Often local African doctors and nurses are so swamped with caring for their patients they haven't learned how to do local research that could improve things.
Leaders in Africa know that Africa needs to build research capacity, so local health care providers can solve local problems. However, lack of training, funding, and coaches are major problems.
MicroResearch has found a way around this problem. It trains health workers in Africa to do research that will improve peoples lives. MicroResearch trainees have launched over 50 research projects that will improve health for people in their communities. MicroResearch helps local African nurses and doctors find solutions to local mother and child health problems that can save lives and improve health.
