The Kamloops Naturalist Club is working with government, first nations, and our non-profit partners to create a wildlife viewing platform overlooking the unique Tranquille wetland area.
We need your help! Please consider a donation to help us move forward.
The project will include paths from parking to both ends of a new raised wood platform with metal roof. It will be fully accessible and wheelchair friendly. Park amenities like benches, garbage cans, and a portable style washroom will be included at the platform site. A webcam will film pond activity and surveillance cameras will deter park vandals. KNC will run educational programming upon request and permanent, interpretive signs will be included that tell the story of the pond, species of interest, and the land use of history of the area by Secwepemc peoples.
With this project we expect to see benefits to park connectivity, tourism, health and wellness, education, and scientific research. Help us give the public the opportunity to immerse themselves in this unique pond feature, which is teaming with insects, birds, and other wildlife.
