COVID-19 Response Fund, an Initiative of the World Health Organization

Campaign Ends Dec. 30, 2020
An initiative of the World Health Organization to strengthen efforts against coronavirus, in partnership with the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation and the United Nations Foundation

We are all affected by the growing COVID-19 outbreak. It’s an unprecedented health challenge and we know people and organizations everywhere want to help.

The World Health Organization is leading and coordinating the global effort, supporting countries to prevent, detect, and respond to the outbreak.

In the context of the current health crisis, the World Health Organisation launched the ‘COVID-19 Response Fund’, the first and only pooled fund for individuals businesses, and organizations to contribute to the global COVID-19 response.

Your donation will go into a fund to support:

  • Tracking and understanding the spread of the virus;
  • Ensuring patients get the care they need, and frontline workers get essential supplies and information;
  • Accelerating efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments.

To expand the global network of donors WHO (headquarters : Geneva) partnered with two charitable foundations: the United Nations Foundation and Swiss Philanthropy Foundation. These two foundations will receive donated funds, which will then be used by the World Health Organization to support countries according to the COVID-19 Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan. KBF CANADA is partner of the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation in order to collect donations in Canada for the World Health Organization.

All donations are eligible for a tax receipt in Canada.

97% of each donation will be donated to WHO.

KBF CANADA was established at the initiative of the Brussels-based King Baudouin Foundation, a major international foundation created in 1976.
