This organization is designated by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a registered charity. They comply with the CRA's requirements and has been issued a charitable registration number.
At PAS de la rue, we support individuals aged 55 and over who are in situations of poverty, isolation, and homelessness, with the goal of stabilization, empowerment, and inclusion. Today, we are launching a campaign to raise $22,500 to continue providing nourishing, healthy, and balanced meals to our clients free of charge until the end of the year.
Despite the invaluable support from Moisson Montréal, the demand keeps increasing, and we need to purchase additional food items to meet the needs. In the context of an unprecedented housing crisis and rising homelessness, food insecurity is worsening, with a 40% increase in meals served this year compared to last year, totaling more than 200 meals per day. More and more seniors are finding themselves in extreme distress, forced to choose between paying their rent, eating, or buying medication. Some are on the brink of being homeless, while others are experiencing homelessness for the first time.
Our food service goes beyond just distributing meals. It provides a place to meet, a space to socialize, regain confidence, and focus on stabilization efforts. Your donation will help purchase the necessary ingredients so that our chefs, with the help of our dedicated volunteers, can continue preparing and serving healthy, balanced meals to those who desperately need them.
Here’s how your donation can make a difference:
- $50: A complete food assistance package for one person.
- $100: 1,000 cups of coffee for our clients.
- $250: 65 meals served to seniors in extreme poverty.
- $500: Additional provisions to supplement the donated goods, ensuring we have enough ingredients for meal preparation.
Help us make a difference! In a crisis that makes our seniors even more vulnerable, your generosity is crucial to maintaining this vital service and guiding the most fragile individuals toward a more stable future.
