Children who take thoughtful risks, persist in creative problem-solving, engage in imaginative play, and embrace collaboration are the innovators, leaders, and life-long learners of tomorrow. Investments in the Children’s Museum ensure that our work remains relevant and best supports the next generation through the delivery of thoughtfully developed programming that readies kids nine and under for the challenges of a knowledge-based society.
Support has quite an impact. Even more impactful when one considers that of the Children's Museum's 152,000+ annual guests, 15,000+ are under-supported children and caregivers visiting for free through our Access Programs and might otherwise not have the opportunity to experience our 35,000 sq. ft. educational environment. This includes the 2,200+ elementary students enrolled in schools in low-income areas and who attend one of our 75+ curriculum-linked school programs at no charge.
As the world currently struggles with the COVID-19 pandemic, we find the museum’s work dramatically impacted by this unexpected and unprecedented situation. We are now temporarily closed to assist efforts to contain spread of the virus, and are minus daily earned revenue. Any gestures of support – small or large - would be greatly appreciated at this time of considerable uncertainty. Now more than ever we count on donations from generous supporters like you who understand the important role the Children’s Museum plays in the lives of so many.
We have closed our doors for the benefit of our communities. But our mission never closes. Staff are carrying on museum work at a physical distance so that we may reopen prepared more than ever to make our communities strong and resilient. Right now, our top priority is the well-being of our guests, staff, and volunteers. We are also ensuring that we are ready on Day 1 to welcome our valued constituents back to a safe and clean environment and the full scope of our learning landscape!
