PUNCH-A-THON hosted by the Winnipeg Elite Boxing Academy in support of Motivate Canada

Campaign Ended July 26, 2015

On Sunday July 19th, 2015 the Winnipeg Elite Boxing and MMA Academy Inc. will host its first annual Punch-A-Thon fundraiser in support of Motivate Canada`s GEN7 Aboriginal Role Model program which supports First Nation, Inuit and Métis youth in revitalizing the principles of community and the connection to their culture by focusing on youth leadership development through sport, physical activity and recreation.

The Punch-A-Thon fundraiser will also celebrate the Spirit Ride Campaign ( – a campaign spearheaded by former Edmonton Lawyer, Don Patterson, in support of Motivate Canada`s GEN7 Program and the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.  On June 20th, Mr. Patterson began his 7,000 km cycle in Inuvik, Northwest Territories and sadly the physical part of his journey ended just two days later with a cycling accident. The accident is a set-back; however, the message of the campaign continues to spread across the country – the importance of physical activity and sport opportunities for Aboriginal youth.

In addition to supporting Motivate Canada, half of all proceeds raised from this event will support five (5) Winnipeg Elite Boxing and MMA Academy competitive boxers and two coaches in attending the 15th annual Ringside World Amateur Boxing Championships in Kansas City from August 5-8, 2015.

Thank you to the Winnipeg Elite Boxing and MMA Academy for supporting Motivate Canada and raising awareness about the importance of physical activity and overall wellness of Aboriginal youth!
