VISIT TO RORAIMA. HOPES ON THE HEIGHTS!
In the northern part of Brazil, in a mountainous area and difficult to access, is the community of Bem Viver. The tuxaua (chief) of the village, Aderaldo Constantino, wants to improve agricultural production and develop livestock to feed his whole world."It's time to take things in hand. The entire village is ready to renovate its facilities, prepare the land for planting and install irrigation. We evaluated our project at $ 6,500. With a little help we will surprise you. You will not regret it! Father Joseph Mugerwa, head of the community, is not far off and nods. He fully supports the project.
An ambitious youth
A little further, the village Maturuca has about 580 inhabitants of the Macuxi ethnic group. Here, it is the young people who are mobilizing. Jacir, in his mid-twenties, explains:"Poultry is easy to farm. We will build a chicken coop with a capacity of 500 chicks. Some will be sold live for breeding, others will be fattened for meat, and still others will be selected for laying hens. Father Njimia, the community leader, speaks of a budget of $ 6,775.An Aboriginal technician trained at the Raposa Serra do Sol Aboriginal Training Center will guide them. The project should soon be profitable. It will serve as a platform on which other sustainable development projects can be built. Can we count on you and your friends? I believe it !
