MULTIFAITH HOUSING INITIATIVE
Each year, Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI) hosts our annual charity walk, Tulipathon - a family-friendly walk along the Rideau Canal and through the beautiful tulips at Dow's Lake. Funds raised from the event help provide subsidies for our tenants who are in need of safe and affordable housing. This year's event will start at 2:30 PM on Sunday, May 27th at Commissioners Park (across from Dow's Lake Pavillion).
Come and join community leaders, including Mayor Jim Watson, City Councillors, Nepean MP Chandra Arya, along with community members from a variety of faith groups who eagerly line up to register for the walk. After the walk, participants relax and enjoy some well-deserved refreshments.
New to this year's Tulipathon is the ability to make your donations online and to promote the event to your peers and congregation via e-mail and social media. Rather than bringing your donations on the day of the walk, simply show up with your best looking banner in support of affordable housing!
Each year, MHI awards the Dr. Farook Tareen Award to the top fundraising faith group - an award created by MHI to honour the great legacy of the late Dr. Farook Tareen. In 2017, the prestigious award went to St. John's Anglican Church. There's also the best banner contest and last year's winner was Or Haneshamah. We can't wait to see the beautiful banners that will be displayed at this year's event!
Bring your family and friends and we'll see you all on Sunday, May 27th!
