HELP WILDLIFE REHAB BY HELPING US WIN $10,000
The North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre, is a world-class wildlife rehabilitation facility specializing in raptors and black bears. Whenever an ill, injured or orphaned animal is brought to the Centre, our goal is to rehabilitate and release it back into the wild. These animals are our temporary guests and we are always happy when they are successfully released. Sometimes, that is not possible; even-though, our animal care specialists and veterinarians do everything possible. These animals become permanent residents at our facility as part of our education programs.
Every year the center takes in 300-500 injured and orphaned animals, this includes numerous bear cubs. The funding would go towards the expansion of the McAdie Wildlife Treatment Centre that is located on site. Not only will this provide a larger area for rehabilitation, but it will also increase the effectiveness and efficiency that the wildlife staff can aid in the healing of these animals.
