You are invited to make a donation to the "Annual Refugee Fundraiser" organized by the Aesculpian Society and Global Health Committee of the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine.
Sincere thanks to the Aesculpian Society and Global Health Committee for selecting the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO) to be the recipient of your generosity of spirit this year!
The Annual Refugee Fundraiser will raise funds through a special 3-course fundraising dinner to be served by Lago Bar & Grill on March 1, a raffle and art auction to be held at the dinner, as well as individual donations to OCISO via this Canada Helps campaign page.
OCISO salutes the enthusiastic volunteer spirit of the team of uOttawa students who are organizing this Annual Refugee Fundraiser:
As we are so privileged to receive medical education here in Canada, we are looking to give back and advocate on behalf of our community, together and united as a student body.
The fundraising event is proud to welcome inter-disciplinary minds speaking towards the impact of immigrant and refugee integration and inclusion in Canada.
Our speakers will focus on the importance of photo journalism, legal consideration of rights, as well as the allocation of fair and accessible health care services to refugees that immigrate to Canada.
There will also be speakers sharing their personal stories and exciting performances, such as modern African style dance performance!
NB: Ticket sales are now closed. Thanks to the 120 individuals who purchased tickets!
