The annual Reality Campaign is back, starting in January and running through February.
We're kicking things off with the original (and 17th annual) 24 Hours For Homelessness event, which runs January 23rd-24th outside the Royal Oak at the corner of Bank St. and Gloucester. Many brave people will be spending 24 hours living outside to bring awareness to the plight of homeless youth in Ottawa.
There are two ways you can help. Stop by the corner of Bank & Gloucester between 2:00 Thursday afternoon (Jan 23) and 2:00 Friday afternoon (Jan 24) to speak to this dedicated group. Learn about homelessness, mental health, housing, addiction, education, youth employment and more. Then take that message with you, and share it with others.
Or, you can find someone who is doing this challenge and donate online. The money raised through the Reality Campaign goes to providing a wide array of services for homeless and street-involved youth through Operation Come Home. Education, employment, housing, mental health services, addiction counseling, social enterprises, and much more.
Thank you for taking the time to come to this page, and thank you for considering the street-involved youth of Ottawa with your donations. Thanks to you, the opportunity for a healthier, happier, and better life awaits.
