Elaine Kehoe Climbs Mount Kilimanjaro on July 16, 2018 to raise Funds for the Orangeville Food Bank
Climbing Kilimanjaro was not on my bucket list, but I know it will be once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment. At 19,341 feet Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa. There will be many challenges, hiking through five different climates from rainforest to alpine desert to Artic snowcap at the summit.
I volunteered with Real Estate Board Breakfast Program, talking with students as we prepared pancakes and served breakfast opened my eyes to the numbers of children who go to bed hungry.
The challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro is nothing compared to that of a parent looking into an empty cupboard and wondering where the next meal will come from.
I reached out to the Orangeville Food Bank and decided to challenge you. I will do the climb and ask that you support this amazing cause. EVERY dollar you donate will go directly to the Orangeville Food Bank where 50% of the funds will be used to purchase fresh and perishable foods and 50% will go to local breakfast programs in Dufferin County.
Many of you know my slogan “I am with you every step of the way”. You can be with me every step of the way to the summit by donating to this very worthy cause.
Empower our children, partner with me! Donate now and make a difference.
Tax receipts will be issued by The Orangeville Food Bank.
