Early diagnosis can mean the difference between life and death for patients in our community. That’s why we’re reaching out to our most loyal donors asking for help. Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is in urgent need of replacing its CT scanner.
Right now, Soldiers' current CT scanner is more than 13 years old, and at the end of its useful life. As the workhorse of the diagnostic imaging department, CT scans are used to diagnose a large scope of health complications, including cancer, stroke, life-threatening injuries, broken bones and more.
That’s why securing a new CT scanner is the Foundation’s biggest fundraising priority. Diagnosing these conditions quickly is absolutely critical for the health of people in our community, like you and your loved ones.
As the scanner ages, the risk for down-times and equipment issues increases. Unfortunately, in the past six months alone, there have been four unplanned outages of the CT scanner, with over 100 hours of downtime at our Hospital. That means when patients were in some of their most critical moments, they had to be rushed to another area hospital for a scan.
We need your help today.
Not only will a new CT scanner be a more reliable piece of equipment for our Hospital, the new scanners are much more technologically advanced. This means faster, sharper and cleaner images at a lower radiation dose for our patients.
With your gift today, you will make it possible for our staff to have the best chance of saving a life.
