Join us on Saturday May 12, 2018 for Afternoon Tea  as we celebrate all women with a Pink Tea. The pink tea tradition developed over a century ago when women throughout Canada used pink teas to engender solidarity among female suffragists. The subversive afternoon teas, aka suffrage meetings were executed in hyper-feminine guise, often featuring "frilly decorations" such as pink doilies and rose-coloured everything, lending itself to be avoided by men. The Parkwood Pink Tea will pay homage to the idea of the original "polite pekoe party" with a presentation by our Curator on the inventive means that industrious women adopted to further this cause.

The event will feature a raffle and our Curator's talk, a lovely catered Afternoon Tea of delicious gourmet petite sandwiches, scones, clotted cream,  desserts, and of course... tea!

Celebrating strong women who paved the way is a beautiful way to enjoy afternoon tea on Mother's Day Weekend with an important woman in your life, and we hope you will join us for this wonderful afternoon.  And please, feel free to wear you finest hat!
