In Tanzania, "almost 70% of children aged 14-17 years are not enrolled in secondary education while a mere 3.2% are enrolled for the final two years of schooling." (Unicef 2017).
However, TEMBO is working hard to address this issue and change the lives of young girls in northern Tanzania through education. Over the past 15 years, we have sponsored more than 350 girls for secondary school and more than 60 girls have received vocational training education that gives them a real chance of employment.
"I had a hard time to get school fees. It is very expensive. She needed a school uniform, exercise books, shoes, trunk...so much..." Dorothea, grandmother of Adela
In January 2019, TEMBO sponsored Adela for Form 1 and today she is doing well in school. We need your support to continue to send girls like Adela to school.
Donate to our Go-to-School Campaign and help us send 40 girls to school next year.
Your contribution can help buy a girl the books she needs to study, fill a trunk with a pink sheet and warm blanket or buy a school uniform.
Make a difference in the life of a girl in northern Tanzania. For just $350 ($30 a month), you can send a girl to school with a uniform, trunk and books!
