In March 2018 a group of 11 North Americans (from Sarnia, Ontario) will be headed to Haiti for a week long "awareness" experience. While in Haiti our group will be visiting a variety of organizations, individuals and locations while we Look, Listen, and Learn.
We will be learning about many of the challenges facing families in the developing world, and meeting people who are working to effect change in their communities. Rayjon has been working in Haiti for 32 years, as a partner in community development. Projects include:
ADULT LITERACY RURAL EDUCATION HEALTH CARE CAPACITY BUILDING
We will be visiting three Rayjon project sites: a remote community school way up in the mountains, adult literacy classes, and a malnutrition centre in the urban city of Cap Haitian. We are excited to meet some of Rayjon's partners face to face, celebrate their achievements and see firsthand the challenges they have been up against.
As part of our commitment to participating in this awareness trip, we have committed to raising funds to support several of the amazing projects we will visit.
Would you considering supporting our team in our "Starvathon"?
Why a Starvathon?
- The Starvathon provides our trip participants an opportunity to go 24 hours without food to experience in a small way what people in developing countries experience often.
- Funds raised will go towards supporting valuable programs in Haiti... programs that are having lasting impact in the lives of so many.
